On October 19, World Breast Cancer Day was commemorated and, to add followers to the fight against this disease, for the third consecutive year we have launched the “Recycle glass for them” campaign. This initiative not only aims to mobilize citizens to recycle glass, but also to contribute to a charitable cause. The campaign has grown year after year and, on this occasion, there are 21 cities that will have 146 pink containers distributed throughout Spain. Each container specifies, in addition to the campaign motto, #ReciclaVidrioPorHers, the nature of the initiative. For every kilo of glass containers that citizens place in the pink containers, Ecovidrio will donate one euro to the Sandra Ibarra Foundation for Solidarity Against Cancer. At least 78% declare they recycle glass compared to 18% of their partners. These were part of the conclusions drawn from the joint study of Ecovidrio with the Malasmadres Club . To facilitate this work, finally, a minigloo has been designed as a symbol of this campaign . Part of the proceeds from the collection will also go to the Sandra Ibarra Foundation for Solidarity Against Cancer, so that they can launch new projects such as the one they have just started with the creation of a School for Cancer Survivors, which was born with the objective of identifying their physical, emotional and social needs in order to improve their quality of life and achieve quality health care.
